Electromagnetism in quark matter at intermediate densities

چکیده
Several anomalous electromagnetic effects that can take place in quark matter at low temperatures and intermediate densities will be discussed. The transport properties of the spatially inhomogeneous phase known as Magnetic Dual Chiral Density Wave (MDCDW) reviewed. Going beyond mean-field approximation, it shown how linearly polarized waves penetrate MDCDW medium mix with phonon fluctuations to give rise two hybridized modes propagation called axion polaritons. Finally, some possible implications these results for astrophysics neutron stars indicated.

Phase Diagram of Neutral Quark Matter at Moderate Densities
We discuss the phase diagram of moderately dense, locally neutral three-flavor quark matter using the framework of an effective model of quantum chromodynamics with a local interaction. The phase diagrams in the plane of temperature and quark chemical potential as well as in the plane of temperature and lepton-number chemical potential are discussed.
متن کاملComputing counterion densities at intermediate coupling.
By decomposing the Coulomb interaction into a long-distance component appropriate for mean-field theory, and a non-mean-field short distance component, we compute the counterion density near a charged surface for all values of the counterion coupling parameter. A modified strong-coupling expansion that is manifestly finite at all coupling strengths is used to treat the short-distance component....
متن کاملThe Influence of Quark Matter at High Densities on Binary Neutron Star Mergers
We consider the influence of potential quark matter existing at high densities in neutron star interiors on gravitational waves (GW) emitted in a binary neutron star merger event. Two types of equations of state (EoS) at zero temperatures are used, one describing pure nuclear matter, the other nuclear matter with a phase transition to quark matter at very high densities. Binary equilibrium sequ...
متن کاملTheory at Quark Matter ’ 02
The collisions of large nuclei may give us insight into the nature of QCD at high temperatures and/or densities. In this talk I review the status of theory for heavy ion collisions from Quark Matter 2002. I concentrate on the the results for the largest nuclei, with atomic number A ≈ 200. At the SPS at CERN, there are two notable results for AA collisions, for √ s/A : 5 → 17 GeV [1]: J/Ψ suppre...
متن کاملThe Future of Quark Matter at RHIC
The matter discovered at RHIC has shown a number of very surprising properties. It is extremely dense and has an initial energy density well above that expected for the phase transition from ordinary hadronic matter into quark gluon plasma. [1–4] The dense matter is very opaque to colored particles, such as quarks or gluons, traversing it. This gives rise to the striking jet quenching observed ...
